Currently I am an assistant professor at the Departament de Filologia Catalana i Lingüística General and director of the research group GRESIB (Research Group on Sociolinguistics in the Balearic Islands) at the Universitat de les Illes Balears. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Catalan Philology at the Universitat de les Illes Balears in 2003 and then I worked for two years as an associate lecturer at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. In September 2006 I defended my Master’s thesis in General Linguistics by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and in September 2011, my Ph.D. dissertation at the same University. From October 2011 to September 2013 I worked as a postdoctoral researcher Alliance 4U at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid as part of the SINTECOM group. After this period, I worked as a postdoctoral researcher/instructor until September 2016 at the Institut für Romanische Philologie of the Freie Universität Berlin.
When I am not at work, I enjoy writing and organizing musical events with my colleagues. Click on the “Other” section to find out more about this “other life”.
