Bio-sketch
Currently I am an assistant professor at the Departament de Filologia Catalana i Lingüística General and director of the research group GRESIB (Research Group on Sociolinguistics in the Balearic Islands) at the Universitat de les Illes Balears. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Catalan Philology at the Universitat de les Illes Balears in 2003 and then worked for two years as an associate lecturer at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona where I defended my Ph.D. dissertation in 2011. From October 2011 to September 2013 I worked as a postdoctoral researcher Alliance 4U at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. After this period, I worked as a postdoc/instructor until September 2016 at the Institut für Romanische Philologie of the Freie Universität Berlin.

My research activity spans several fields: intonational phonology of Romance languages, prosody-syntax and prosody-pragmatics interfaces, early acquisition of these interfaces, speech perception and processing, and methodological issues concerning ecological validity in data elicitation. My research track record includes almost 80 publications, over 30 invited talks and over 100 presentations at national/international conferences. In 2010 I received the Best Student Paper award at Speech Prosody 2010 (Chicago, USA). I has also taught a variety of language and linguistics courses at different institutions (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas, Freie Universität Berlin, Universidad de Costa Rica, among others).
